After months of consultation, Council approved the new ward boundaries to come into effect for the election in 2022. Notable changes include current Wards 1 & 3 being merged into a new Ward 1. Ward 2 has also expanded west to McCowan Rd and south to take in some or the northern parts of the current ward 4 and 5 to balance the population targets. Most significantly, there will be 4 urban wards with the creation of what will be Ward 3 in anticipation of new development in the Phase 3 lands in what was Ward 5.
