Whitchurch-Stouffville Public Library to Assist Seniors with COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment Registration
WHITCHURCH-STOUFFVILLE, ON – On Friday, the Whitchurch-Stouffville Public Library, in partnership with the Office of the Mayor, the Stouffville Christian Ministerial Association and Markham Vaccinates, announced the launch of Stouffville Vaccinates.
This free assistance program will help Stouffville seniors (ages 65+) register for their vaccination appointment. It will also provide transportation to the appointment if required.
“The Whitchurch-Stouffville Public Library recognizes that making COVID-19 vaccination appointments can be a daunting task,” said Margaret Wallace, Chief Executive Officer of the Library. “This is especially true for those who lack the technical skill or equipment, including Internet access.”
Beginning Monday, March 15, seniors can call the Library to register for this free program by calling 905-642-7323 ext. 5230 from Monday to Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
“Some of our residents have experienced struggles when trying to register for appointments,” said Whitchurch-Stouffville Mayor Iain Lovatt. “We need to make this process as smooth and easy as possible, and the Library will be stepping in to assist anyone who needs a helping hand.”
“This will help Stouffville’s seniors get vaccinated as soon as supply allows.”
All personal information collected will be used solely for registration and will be destroyed.
