Last week, I tabled the below motion at York Regional Council asking council to request a reassessment of our Federal Housing Accelerator Fund application. I am grateful to have had council’s support on the matter. It makes no sense that not only were we denied this funding when smaller municipalities. further away from the GTA received funding for committing to less homes that Stouffville started in 2023, but worse, we were denied the reasoning for CMHC’s decision to deny our application. Transparency is needed. The item has been picked up by several news outlets.
